So I’ve been checking out various “sects” of satanism lately, and it is surprisingly awesome. Some of it makes sense and people in this day and age seem to live like that anyways. Black Masses and human sacrifices are a thing of the past, only used in the 70s for the shock factor.

There are a few different versions of satanism, some make more sense than others, and some are more like actual religions than philosophies.

LaVayen Satanism seems to be the most thought out one, with a Church, a Book, 9 Satanic sins and 11 “commandments” (Satanic Rules).

Oddly enough LaVeyan satanism doesn’t actually worship Satan or the Devil as a God or Deity. LaVeyan satanism firmly believes that all Gods are created by man, therefore the worship of those gods is is merely worshiping of man himself by proxy. Therefore they cut out the middle man altogether and state that we should worship the divinity within onself, putting man, and one self at the highest priority and thinking of satan as the animal instincts within ourselves.

Check out the nine satanic statements first, as it would give you a good overall view of what satanism represents:

Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence.

Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams.

Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit.

Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it, instead of love wasted on ingrates.

Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek.

Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires.

Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all.

Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification.

Satan has been the best friend the (Christian) Church has ever had, as it has kept it in business all these years

A few things I want to point out here, number 3 probably refers to the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge that got “Adam and Eve” booted out of “Garden of Eden” yadda yadda yadda. The serpent said to “Adam and Eve”, “Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.“ And why shouldn’t they have known good and evil? Religion tries to control your knowledge, and so thought, and so language.

Number 7, probably refers to all the wars waged over religion, Islam, Christianity etc, America vs the Taliban etc etc. It is quite hypocritic to say “God Bless America”. Why would God bless America when America is sinning ever day, murdering people in foreign countries. It is so religiously contradictory to “Support the Troops”.

And check out the nine (LaVeyan) satanic sins:

Stupidity (don’t be a dick)

Pretentiousness (don’t be vain)

Solipsism (you are not the centre of the universe)

Self-deceit (don’t lie to yourself)

Herd Conformity (don’t copy other people just to conform to their standards)

Lack of perspective (never lose sight of who and what you are)

Forgetfulness of Past Orthodoxies (don’t sell the same thing in a new package)

Counterproductive Pride (if you stuffed up, admit it, and compromise to fix it)

Lack of Aesthetics (look good)

So really, its all about individuality. Now think about America, the percentage of the populate that are Christian (it’s high – 79.8% in 2001), and look how easily they are controlled by the government. That’s because they are used to being controlled and conforming to the whims of a higher power.

Now check out the eleven satanic rules, although harsh they make sense, and the world might be a better place if everyone followed these rules:

Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.

Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.

When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.

If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.

Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.

Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.

Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.

Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.

Do not harm little children.

Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.

When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.

Check out number 9, thats like a direct dig at all the homo pedophile priests of Christianity and Catholic that have abused all those poor little altar boys. Like I’m letting my kids near a church of god, fuck that.

Number 5 rules out rape, number 1 would stop those assholes who think they know everything, number 3, show people respect in their own house which everyone should do, number 8 is a good one, like a girl whining about her husband beating her when she can just leave him. Number 11 I especially like.

I think the world would be a better place with these rules, and people would respect each other a lot more.

The only thing that is a little bit kooky is the magic bit… LaVeyan satanism has a bit to do with magic and putting hexes on people and what not, which is a little weird.

But yeah, religion and politics should definitely be separated and everyone should be a satanist (which is not a religion, but a practice or philosophy – hence the -ism). The world would be a much better place without religion, but unfortunately politics and politicians are a necessary evil.
