Well I hate to say it because everyones going to say I’m copying off Nick, but I’m going to have to get a Hilux. I been looking at getting another car soon and I wanted a fast-ish one like a Supra or another Silvia. But to be honest I’ll probably end up crashing it into something or getting more speeding tickets. So I was thinking a Hilux. I could copy my cousin and buy a blown one and put a 2.8 diesel in it. Then buy a turbo kit for it. Then just need to heighten the suspension a bit and it would be a mean truck.

Then I could take it when I go out to a beach, chuck the quad on the back. Maybe a 2 wheeler as well if I get a flatdeck and not a wellside. Hey I could even make my own tray. Wouldn’t be that hard with a plasma cutter and welder.

Actually everyone is getting Hilux’s at the moment. With my satanist values I hate to be a conformist (though I am sometimes a hypocrite), but it is a damn good Idea. Better than buying an 04/05 Subaru Legacy, Silvia, or Supra which is what I was going to do.

Nick bought another engine, so it was off to Wellsford yesterday. This time a Toyota 3L (2.8litre diesel). Cruised up state highway 16 (the back way, some damn nice views that way), cranking Static-X’s new album.

Got up there, dragged the thing into the van and onto a tire. It was way heavier than the 2L we picked up from Hastings that time. Lucky we had Brad to help us. The guy he bought it off then let us grab a bunch of other stuff off a Hilux carcass sitting in the paddock. Can never have too many spare parts.

His project lux is getting there. He sold his V8 beast a few weeks ago and spent the money on a 39 Ford Bonus pickup with a V8 in it, which is now sitting at the factory. Saw it the other night when me and Shellz went to grab some tires off “Danger”, her old holden ute that got rear ended. She bought a new ute too, another Holden, but gloss black. Looks badass.

That family has an abnormal amount of cars. Nick has 4, 3 of which are projects. His lux, the Bonus, and the aforementioned damaged Danger, which is to become a rat rod in the future, the “Dairy Flat Rat” or something to that effect. Should be mean, flamethrowers, body dropped to an inch off the ground, just real rough and dirty, with a two-tone bare metal and rust paintjob. Or something along those lines anyway.

Been busy lately making a new site for Telescum, one that will pull telecommunications industry stories from rss feeds into a database automatically tagging them as it goes. It’ll work on a cron so I don’t have to touch it. Because I was to busy/lazy to keep updating the current site I’d rather have one that updates itself. Should be good.

I can scratch one of the games off my to get list. Skinny kindly got hold of Pure, the quad racing game. Is pretty mean. Makes me want to get a quad even more. I’m currently trying to save up $5-6k for a Yamaha YFZ450. Should be fun. Want to get a matching covered and alarmed trailer for my van to keep it in too lol.

Unfortunately I want to buy a guitar now, but I think I’ll just wait until after I get the quad. I been jamming with Nick a bit, he’s got a guitar and I’ve got drums but we swap most of the time. He’s pretty mean on the drums. Cranks out some wicked blast beats. I’m… below average on guitar. But I’m trying. I want to downtune it to play some real brutal chords, but I don’t think it is the right kind of guitar. I borrowed it the other day when I got off nightshift and played all day at full volume, was mean.

Been helping Nick a bit with his truck as well. He bought another Hilux. Already got a Van and a V8 Hilux (the project 88), and now he got another Hilux (for free) and is going to do that up (thats what we went to get the engine for). He’s redoing the rusty panels and stuff in it. Pretty much doing a panelbeaters job, reckons it would be about $2000 work from a professional. Brochanics all the way.

I think lately I’ve been a bit extreme on the attacking religion front. Each to their own and everyone is free to take up a religion of their choice (or not) as per the human rights. So, sorry if I offended anyone.

Also had to say goodbye to a friend today . Shit was just fucked up between us. Sad that I won’t see them again, but thats the way the cookie crumbles.

Went to my mate Nicks last night and we went to the supermarket to get some beer and I saw a girl who I used to work at BP with there. Anyway on the way back to his we can see this bonfire at the back of his farm. This huge one, it actually looked like a house or barn on fire, not a bonfire. So we get back to his place and Palethorp was there, with his V8 Hilux. They backed it into the carport under the light, and we had a look at the engine.

God damn it is clean, lexus 1UZFE transplant into it, it is so nice. No wires and crap everywhere, nice blue tubes for the intake and the radiator hoses, huge pod filter. Fucking gorgeous.

Anyways Iydden and his girlfriend Angeline turn up and said the neighbours are having a bit of a bonfire party. Then Brad turns up so we decide to go check it out. Throw all the booze in the back of Palethorps truck along with a couch/seat out of nicks van, and go down the barn to get nicks V8 hilux. Palethorps truck sounds pretty damn awesome.

Anyways we open up Nicks shed and there’s his beast sitting there ready to go, so we pull that out, its even louder than Palethorps truck cos it has a 350 chev in it! Put another couch in the back of that thing (which the tray on it wasn’t bolted on yet – just new), and they tried to make me go in there to keep it on the back. But knowing my luck it would’ve fallen off with me on it going up a hill or something. So I jump in the cab with Brad, Nick, Shelley and her friend Erin, and we take off down the farm.

I can only imagine what these kids were thinking when they hear our trucks roaring down the race and then see us go into the paddocks sliding fucking sideways all over the place, big rooster tails of mud and shit. We go into the other paddock and Palethorp makes it up the hill fine in 2 wheel drive cos he’s got big tyres on there but Nick’s racing slicks didn’t quite make it. We tried thrice, even with a big runup but we just got halfway up and it would spin. Clicked it into 4wd and it was sweet. Smashed up there, backed up to the fence near the fire, pulled off the seats and sat there by the fire drinking beer. Eventually we got sick of their dance music and hip hop shit so we cranked on the metal.

It was pretty awesome, the sound of those V8’s is wicked, some kid tried to show off the noise his rotor made, but I don’t think anyone cared after the V8’s…

So yeah, that’s how you gatecrash a bonfire party…
